All-New Volvo EX90 Electric SUV Revealed

The all-new Volvo EX90 SUV was revealed today in Stockholm, and it is the start of a new era for the automaker. Volvo Cars aim to sell only fully electric cars by 2030, and the EX90 will be the first step in that direction. The new SUV is set to be built in the USA starting next year and will be packed with features that make it a truly unique vehicle. Here's a look at what the all-new Volvo EX90 has to offer.

The car has state-of-the-art sensors and core computing technology that allows for a real-time, 360-degree view of the world around it. Thanks to regular over-the-air software updates, the car is designed to get better over time. Some other features include an infotainment system with Google Built-In, phone key technology, bi-directional charging capability, etc.

Range

The all-new electric 7-seater SUV will be powered by a 111-kWh battery, giving it a range of 600 kilometres (WLTP). This is more than enough for the average family's needs. It can also charge from 10 to 80% in under 30 minutes. The first EX90s to be built will be a 517-horsepower twin-motor all-wheel drive version. Next year, production for the Volvo EX90 will begin in the USA and later on in China. The main goal is to make these facilities carbon-neutral by then.

Safety above all

Volvo has always been a leader in safety, and they are continuing that trend with the all-new Volvo EX90. It is constantly monitoring its surroundings with top-of-the-line sensors and cameras to ensure the safety of all passengers. If the driver appears distracted or drowsy, the car will take action to prevent any possible accidents. The EX90 is also the first Volvo able to be driven unsupervised, a feature that will soon be introduced.

State-of-the-art Technologies

Volvo's new EX90 will feature a core system that runs most of the car's functions, from safety to battery management. The car will be equipped with state-of-the-art computing power and high-quality graphics. Furthermore, the infotainment system will include Google apps and services, hands-free help from Google Assistant, and more, thanks to Google Built-In. Phone key technology will be standard, allowing your smartphone to serve as your car key.
