The new Volvo S60 and V60 Recharge models

For 2022, Volvo modified the top trim level of its S60 and V60 compact luxury vehicle, which are now named Recharge, due to their plug-in hybrid drivetrains.

An impressive powertrain

The 2022 Volvo S60 and V60 Recharge models feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain that delivers the highest performance from Volvo, while remaining frugal at the pump. Indeed, the Recharge powertrain is composed of a 2.0L supercharged and turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor to deliver 415 horsepower. This is enough performance to power the V60 Recharge to 96 km/h in only 4.4 seconds, a feat that is not typically associated with a practical wagon. This performance does not come at the expense of fuel economy, however, since the S60 and V60 Recharge can boast a combined consumption as low as 7.8L/100km, with as low as 7.0L / 100 km on the highway. In addition, the plug-in nature of this powertrain provides you with up to 35 kilometers of all-electric range, meaning that you could complete most and maybe all of your daily commutes using only electricity, which is good for your wallet and the environment.

More features

For 2022, the Volvo S60 and V60 Recharge offer you more features and characteristics. For instance, the wireless phone charging pad is now standard and the climate package now includes rear heated, a heated steering wheel and the headlamp washers. Some other features have also been repackaged in a way to make it easier for you to get every equipment you want in your S60 or V60 Recharge without having to order each of them separately. Indeed, the head-up display, the 360-degree camera system, the air purifier and the Pilot assist semi-autonomous driving system are now part of the Advanced package instead of being standalone options. Another benefit of this move is that you can now have a fully equipped vehicle for less than the total of all of these options would have cost you previously.
