Three Reasons to Buy a Volvo XC60 Instead of an Acura RDX

The XC60 perpetuates Volvo's tradition of safety, passenger comfort, advanced powertrains and versatility, while providing the best in terms of technologies inside and out. The lineup includes two gas models and a hybrid that perfectly combines performance and efficiency.

The XC60’s segment is steadily growing in popularity. Here, we explore three reasons to buy a Volvo XC60 instead of an Acura RDX.

The 2021 Volvo XC60 has more choices

Under the hood of the XC60, you will find plenty of choice. The XC60 Momentum includes a 2.0 L turbo four-cylinder that delivers 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The T6 powertrain drives three models with an impressive 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Acura RDX only has one engine choice, and it lags behind the XC60’s T6 powertrain in terms of performance, with only 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.

But the XC60 also has a hybrid that pairs efficiency and performance like no other – something the RDX doesn’t have. The XC60 T8 boasts 400 net horsepower and plenty of torque. This lets the XC60 achieve a fantastic combined fuel efficiency rating of 9.3 L/100 km. When it is plugged in and charged, this powertrain lets you drive in fully electric mode for a full 27 kilometres, which is perfect for doing groceries or driving to work without using a drop of gas.

The 2021 XC60 offers a high-performance variant, and more capability

For performance enthusiasts, the XC60 Polestar Engineered is also available and gets a high-output version of the plug-in hybrid powertrain with 415 hp and 494 lb-ft of torque.

The XC60 also has a great towing capacity advantage, with 3,500 lb compared to only 1,500 lb for the RDX. Needless to say, the XC60 offers much more in terms of engine options and performance.

The 2021 Volvo XC60 is safer and more intuitive

The XC60 is a 2021 Top Safety Pick+ by IIHS, which is a very important factor when shopping for a family car.

Inside, the XC60 brings more style, comfort and technologies. It also has a much more intuitive infotainment system with easy access to the vehicle’s function. The Acura RDX still uses a less intuitive track pad.

The 2021 Volvo XC60 is a much more competent vehicle than the Acura RDX. Come and see it today in our showroom. You can also shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
