Volvo Unveils the Refreshed 2025 XC90: A Leap Forward in Hybrid SUV Technology

Volvo has revealed its updated 2025 XC90 model, showcasing significant improvements in technology, design, and eco-friendliness. The flagship hybrid SUV now offers an impressive electric range and a host of new features, solidifying its position in the premium market. 

The plug-in hybrid version of the 2025 Volvo XC90 boasts over 70 kilometres of pure electric range per WLTP testing cycle, allowing most drivers to complete their daily commutes with zero tailpipe emissions. When combined with its efficient petrol engine, the total range extends beyond 800 kilometres, providing flexibility for longer journeys and eliminating any worry associated with finding charging stations in unfamiliar locations. 

Exterior updates reflect Volvo's transition towards electrification, with design elements echoing those of the company's newest electric models. The refreshed look maintains the XC90's confident presence while signalling its advanced hybrid capabilities. 

Inside, the 2025 Volvo XC90 receives a major upgrade with a larger, higher-resolution central touchscreen. This enhanced infotainment system brings the latest user experience from Volvo's electric vehicles like the EX90, offering new features, apps, and regular over-the-air software updates. The interior also benefits from more practical storage solutions and the use of premium recycled materials, emphasizing both functionality and sustainability. 

Safety remains a top priority for Volvo, with the 2025 XC90 incorporating advanced features such as radar and cameras to detect lane drifting and avoid collisions. The vehicle's safety cage and active safety systems work together to protect occupants and other road users, maintaining Volvo's reputation for exceptional safety standards. 

Comfort and luxury have been elevated in the new 2025 XC90. The suspension system now includes adaptable dampers as standard, optimizing both comfort and stability. An optional air suspension allows for customizable ride experiences, including the ability to lower or raise the vehicle for improved aerodynamics or increased ground clearance. Volvo has also focused on reducing wind and road noise through additional insulation, enhancing the overall luxury driving experience. Production of the new 2025 Volvo XC90 is set to begin in late 2024, with deliveries expected by year-end.
